do you mean adding a transition between menus? you can change the duration of the from/to menus in the transition -- menu/transitions/generate new

You can also create your own "transition clips" outside of DLP, and use them in a playlist...

no i didnt ask about the the built-in transitions. i asked how can i author in my own made transitions instead.

A transition is simply a video (that is DVD spec compliant).
Create your own in any NLE.
Adobe AfterEffects is good for this sort of thing.

There are both process transitions and a "spice" transitions. The later use bw image to define the transition flow. Simply throw your bw transition image into the transition folder and here you have your own custom transition. But of course there is only certain amount of effects you can do with "spices" untill the effect wears off.
