  1. I'm fairly new at this and something happened last week that has me stumped. Since I started transfering my VHS to DVD, I took the advice here and have been making a +RW first before burning my permanant DVD. I have gone thru different media -R and +R and my DVD stand alone player has played everything without problem. It is an older SONY 5300. I remember originally that I was concerned it would have problems. Anyway, last week it stopped recognizing the +RW's. It just says no disk. I have a lite-on burner so I tried making them dvd-rom book type and still it doesn't see it. I have no problem's with my other media amd my +RW seem fine on my drives in my PC at home and at work. Anybody have any ideas? I could see if it never worked, but it was fine until just recently.

    Thanks!

I would double check your burn settings. Maybe the disk isn't closed/finalized
