  1. This just started hitting the shelves in my area, and I was wondering if anybody knew of a region hack for this unit? The SD-3900 had one, and the SD-3950 apparently doesn't. My local Target still has 3900 for their display unit, but they won't sell it to me. I need a US player that will play some Korean DVDs I picked up last time I was there.

  2. i'm interested in knowing this too. it's on sale at best buy this week for 69.99, i believe. i am also interested in whether it plays both dvd+r and dvd-r well and if it has pal>ntsc conversion and how it looks in an ntsc television.

  3. Well, I couldn't wait anymore so I went ahead and ordered an SD-4900 for $79. At least it is hackable.

Would still be nice to know if the SD-3960 has a hack or a mod that will make it region-free.

  4. Hell, I just want to know if the 3960's a decent player. I've gotta replace my SD-2109 and from what I've read the 3950 blows
