    Hi,

I may be using the wrong term here so please correct me if im wrong. I am trying to create a DVD menu that has a still image with a moving fire video over the top.

    Is this called an overlay?

Could someone please explain how to do it? I have the image and the fire video, however one just seems to block out the other which is where i believe you must 'overlay' them?

The video of the flames is a black background with flames over the top and the flames cover the bottom half of the video. How can I insert my image so that the flames burn over my image insead of the blank black background of the original video??

I have access to Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe encore DVD and Roxio easy media creator 7.

If anyone could help it would be much appreciated. Thankyou.

In Premiere put background in Video 1A
Put fire clip in Video 2

Drag the "Clip" filter (under transforms) over the fire clip
In the Effects Control window, select transparency setup.

Key type - start with "Luminance"
experiment with cutoff and threshold controls for the effect you want
    save
define work area with yellow top bar.
    render work area
preview, if you don't like it revert and try again

  3. An example of an overlay yes, but what you
are asking for is called a "motion menu".
