  1. Hi all,
I want to buy a dvd recorder which plays and record both pal and ntsc dvd's, as i will be moving to Pakistan where most of the Dvd's are in pal and the TV is pal too.

I just came accross a Panasonic Dvd recorder , DMR-E65 , which has both Pal and NTSC video output system. I want to know as to what it means? Does it means that it can just play NTSC and Pal DVd's or does it means that it can play as well as record Pal and NTSC dvd's too??

I will be greatful if anyone can guide me on it as i will be moving to Pakistan soon and want to buy a DVD recorder before leaving.

    Thanks for your time.

  2. I think not. It will only play PAL movies as well as NTSC movies. And if it is not saying anything about converting like PAL to NTSC then it won’t be viewable in the North American television system. Most DVD recorders (almost all of them) sold in North America (CANADA and USA) are NTSC format recorders only, few can play PAL (PAL to NTSC built in, JVC) movies. I think in Europe (UK) or in Singapore you can buy a dvd player which can play and record PAL and NTSC. Even then I think your TV should be a multi system, PAL and NTSC compatible.
