I am having problems with stabilization. I enacted the feature on my camcorder(minidv). When I watch the footage on the camcorder, it is corrected. I captured the footage to avi and burned it with Mydvd 6.0.The captured video is motion packed. This doesnt make sense. I thought the cam feature(motion reduction) would be reflected on the dv footage. I used the highest encoding.Any ideas?

Yes, the stabilisation in recorded to the tape in the footage, not as something that can be viewed afterwards. Can you explain better what you are seeing that concerns you ? Do you see it only on the PC, or on the TV as well ?

You should also take into account the fact that a movement that is almost imperceptable on a 2 inch camera LCD may translate into a 2 inch movement on a TV screen. Plug your camera into the TV and watch the tape, then compare it to the DVD. I suspect that they will be the same.

That is the weird thing. If I plug the cam into the tv,I dont have the problem. When I preview it when it is capturing is does not have the problem.Nor does the captured avi.It is only after it has been encoded and burned.

  4. I think you have a field order propblem. MyDVD is probably detecting the source field order incorrectly.

If is comes from a DV camera, the field order should be bottom or lower field first. I don't know MyDVD, so I can't help you find the setting.

I use Vegas for DV - lower field first. I don't know if something like restream change change field order. I suspect you will have to reencode.

  9. I don't know Sonic MyDVD either. Look for source video options (maybe right click on the source video?) and for a "field order" setting. Unfortunately there are many different names for the two possbiel field orders: top/bottom, A/B, upper/lower, odd/even, etc. Switch to the opposite of whatever you used last time.
