I was wondering if anyone has experienced any drawbacks to setting the plextor 716a to its maximum read speed other than the possibility of a read error during a rip. I don't want to have to test/ruin multiple disks. Any comments are truly appreciated. I am running a p4 3.2ghz machine so i shouldn't have any PC issues to interfere. Thanks in advance.

I have my 712 set to read at max speed, haven't had any problems and it reaches 15x some times.
