  2. You've been blacklisted. Anything like Daemon Tools, Alcohol, or Clone CD Virtual Drive are considered emulation softwares. They allow you to load image files into a virtual drive and emulate the way a real CD/DVD-ROM drive would work. This is a popular method for getting around copy protections on bootlegged games. So many of those games now search for such software and won't play if it's present. It's is utter bullshit since such software is useful for more than just bootlegging, but if a game company decides to do things that way I'd return the game and demand a refund as it is obviously incompatible with other software that it makes no mention of. Of course just to piss on their parade I'd make a copy of it before taking it back.

Regardless getting around it depends on what software is running. You can usually just disable virtual drives in completely in Daemon tools and be fine. Alcohol you can do the same but it doesn't always work since some games actually look for the drivers alcohol uses. You can avoid that by uninstalling alcohol and then reinstalling in advanced mode. Rename the drivers to something else when prompted. Other softwares will vary as well. Check the CDFreaks.com forums for more info on blacklisting and how to avoid it.

  4. I haven't run Clone CD in a while, not since Elby made it. Check your add/remove programs to see if Clone CD Virtual Drive or something similar is listed where you can uninstall it seperately. You may have to uninstall the entire CCD package if not. But you can then reinstall it and choose not to install the Virtual Clone Drive.

it may be as simple as right clicking on the emulated drive and choosing "unmount".

If not you should be able to go into clonecd's settings and disable the virtual drives.

worst case scenario, uninstall clonecd. If you have Nero it also does virtual drives.
