They're running a deal through February 7th for $8.25 a month if you prepay for a year($99). That's less than half what I'm paying for Netflix, but it's no good if it takes a week to receive a dvd. Can anyone who has tried this service please respond?? Thanks Very Much..

Not really DVD to DVDR, unless of course you are asking how to copy your rentals

If you like only 2 or 3 titles a MONTH...then go for it
DVD Barn is ultimately the worst rental sevice of all - it was a nightmare being a member and even worse trying to cancel.
BTW, you'll soon find out once you join that their selection is a lot (and I do mean a LOT) smaller once you become a member - they make it look like they carry almost every DVD title there is but actually only have the most popular titles (if even that).
You can't cancel until they receive all titles back, and for some reason it took more than a month for those titles to reach them...then they charged for the next 2 months.
Blockbuster.com is better than Netflix, IMO (from experience with both)
Greencine.com is a good alternative (but may take longer with some titles) - they do have many out of print and rare titles. -
I tried it a year or so ago and didn't have any major problems. I think it was a free trial, though, which is why I didn't continue with it since I don't rent too many movies....
