The following website can give you specific seat information (size, pitch, non-restricted recline, noisy/quiet location . . . ) by plane body-type from different airlines.

It does not actually reserve the seats.

For tall people - Continental Sucks. Delta Sucks except in First Class. American Airlines is decent. Southwest, depends on the plane. AirTran, Sucks. JetBlue, very nice. Vanguard, Decent. Alaska, decent in most planes. Hawaiian, decent but the storage compartments are always filled with donuts, packages & other odd stuff that should have been mailed instead. British Airways, most of the seats are fine from the front to mid-section, but the back sucks. Northwest, Decent in the exit rows. Midwest, Sucks. United, Decent on some planes. US Airways, sucks but mostly due to the service.

JMHO, but if you can't tough it out and handle a ride as short as a plane trip then you've got much bigger problems than not being able to fit your ass into an airliner seat.

as short as a plane trip ?
you havent flown then on some of the 12-14 hour a leg trips ive been on then ..
i had a flight one time from panama (a nightmare that airport is - its on the other side of the country as the city) to Miami to Ireland (Miami to Ireland i was stuck in that 1/2 seat on the last row of a 747, the one no-one is supposed to use, but it was overbooked and i took it ...... worked non stop in Ireland and then flew to London and switched planes, flew non stop to HK (4 days) ... from HK , went to back to Frankfort (2 days) , then Paris (2 days), then back home .
ive flown to japan for a 4 hour meeting and flew back once ..
and many more looong flights ..... it often takes more than 24 hours in the air (including switching planes) to get where your going .."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
Transatlantic and Pacific flights Suck majorly. You have to have something VERY comfortable or you're going to have it BAD. Express flights are really nothing. Unless you're travelling with small children it's not too bad. But I'd never take an express flight that lasted longer than 1 hour. I was held up on one for 90 minutes due to weather. My back killed me horribly the next day.

People should be allowed to take their computer chairs on those long flights then. Nobody ever bitches about having to sit in those for extended periods of time.

I don't know if this ever came up but, what do you guys think about charging people who actually take up more than one seat (fat, obese, large, big-boned, call them what you want) being charged for more than one seat?
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore. -
If you are too big (fat) for one chair you should pay more. Takes more fuel to haul you too.
I am sort of tall and I have never flown first class. Flying sucks ass for me.snappy phrase
I don't know what you're talking about. -
Whatever the airline, economy class always sucks.

Qantas is an AWESOME airline. Hell...one of the best meals I had the entire 3 weeks I was in Oz was on the Qantas flight....
Still.....16 hours nonstop was a bitch. The 747-400 made it a bit easier though. The Airbus A300 used for alot of transatlantic flights is a bit cramped for a 8 to 9 hour flight. Good thing I am short... -
If you're too fat, you should be paying more. Honestly, the cost of your flight has already been averaged per pound via wieght. This is why they weigh & sixe your bags at check-in. Though it varys from airline to airline, the general estimate per person per seatis: 250lbs. physical body, 60lbs. carry-on & personal items, 2-150lbs. check in bags. If bags are over a certain size or weight they are marked and often set aside and placed in the airplane last. They are tagged as first arrival, so if there's enough space for the first few, they go on the plane with you, otherwise they are placed on a later flight that follows the exact same route the person they belong to travelled.
[side note]They also cannot switch the bag to another airline, or if the bag gets on the wrong plane, it must go back to the previous airports it left from before being redirected to the correct airport. If you're bound for NY from Vegas with a connecting flight in GA, and your luggage went from vegas to Chicago, it has to be sent to vegas, then to GA, then to NY. THey cannot just send it from Chicago to NY. [/side note]
So the average weight per person is between 600-650lbs. Let's say an airlilne charges $1 per pound where they average 610lbs. per person, per seat. If a person takes up more room and requires a 2nd seat, they should be charged for the $610 the airline would lose for that seat. Now most airlines also offer this, and I believe they should, where that person is also allowed 3 more check-in bags up to 150lbs or 2-200lbs. check-in bags (depending on the airline). I feel that is only reasonable. An obese person severely changes the weight ratio of the plane, so it's either increase the cost of tickets or charge more for the obese person. I have also heard of some airlines where one person can purchase an empty seat for $250-$350 more without being allowed to take on extra baggage. Again it depends on the airline, but I personally have felt that Very obese people who take up 2 seats need to pay more to cover the costs. Why should everyone pay more due to the fact that others cannot control themselves. -
Even if the CAN control themselves and it's a medical issue that they can't help, the fact of the matter is they take up two seats. One far one seat is my philosophy.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore. -

b) On all other destination flights, passengers (excepting babies as mentioned above) are allowed one piece of checked in baggage weighing no more than 20kg/44lbs. Some airlines like Emirates are allowing 30kg bags also but it is at their own discretion.
Each passenger (including a baby) is allowed a carry-on bag not exceeding 5/6 kg and as per the dimension set by the airline (dimensions vary as per the airline and aircraft type). Passengers may also be allowed a laptop, ladies purse, an umbrella, etc. as carry on items in addition to the one carry-on item.
I often travel to UK and Europe from India and my trips are for longish durations - 3 months to a year. I always suffer because of the above rules. Hence I always prefer to fly Emirates.
Anyway Emirates in my opinion is one of the best airlines in the world (if not the best). I have flown many airlines - Lufthansa, British Airways, Quantas, Air India, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Gulf Air, KLM, Northwest, Delta, United Airlines, American Airlines, Southwest, America-West, Korean, etc.
I will not hesitate to say that Emirates and Singapore are the best airlines in the world. BA and Quantas are nearly there. The rest are all more or less equivalent though I rate Air India, Northwest and Korean on the lower side. However this is just my opinion.*** My computer can beat me at chess, but is no match when it comes to kick-boxing. ***
