Is it possible to author a DVD that has both set top viewable video and computer data files as well? Like the enhanced CD's have?
I send my music videos out to possible clients and I would like for them to be able to watch the videos on their set top DVD player, but also be able to access pictures, a biography and other promotional materials about my act on their computer. Is it possible to put both on one disc![]()
P.S. I am a newbie so I have to ask. How does everyone attach the small thumbnail picture to the left of their posting?[/img]

Yes, you can do this several ways. You can include the material as part of the DVD-Video such that it can be viewed on their set top player. Pictures could be in a slideshow format. Text can be difficult to read on a normal TV but with a decent size font could be ok. Again it is just an image really, so a slideshow. All this can be viewed on a PC too with a DVD ROM drive and suitable DVD player software.Originally Posted by dewaynespaw
If you don't want to go that route and just include some jpegs and text docs with your DVD, then simply create a new directory on your DVD and place them in there.
Click on your profile button, there is an setting for your 'avatar; as it is know and instructions on how to upload it.Originally Posted by dewaynespawThere are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary... -

Yeah, I really don't want the promotional files to be viewed on the TV. I would just like for them to be able to pop the DVD in their DVD Rom, select the open in folder option and be able to pull the files right from the disc.
After typing this, I tried a little test. I opened one of my authored DVD's on my computer, did the open in folder option, clicked and drug the Audio_TS and Video_TS folders that were on the DVD to my desktop. I then burned a data DVD with the Audio_TS and Video_TS files plus the folder with the promotional stuff in it. (I was sure to name the promotional file a name starting with Z - was not sure if that would interfere with the set top player playing the Audio/Video_TS folders due to alphabetical issues)This seems to be working, however I only have a Playstation2 and an Apex 1100W and the Apex will play ANYTHING. Before I got my new DVD burner, I was having authoring problems and didn't even know it. I was testing the authored DVD's on that Apex player and they were playing just fine, but on most everyone else's player, they wouldn't play at all. I just wish they would get these DVD's to the point that CD's are at. No matter what burner they are burned on or what player you have, they will play. DVD's unfortunately are not that way at all. At least not yet, but I think they will be in the near future.
