Here's my setup:
1 PC (WinXP, 1.5ghz, 1G of RAM) upstairs in bedroom with scads of movies encoded in DivX/XviD on it
1 widescreen HDTV directly below in living room
house network's wired Linksys router in the den downstairs (all comps in the house are linked)
In a nutshell, my mother wants to be able to view the movies that are stored on my machine on the widescreen HDTV. Who can blame her right? So my question is what are some of the more viable options (preferably under $100, under $50 would knock my socks off)?
I have looked into various "Media Link" type products, but it seems most of them are at least $150 and up. I have also considered directly linking a DVI cable from my NVidia graphics card's DVI-out, but that would require drilling/running cable not to mention DVI cables don't seem to be all that cheap.
I know there's a possibility I may have overlooked something simple and am making a mountain out of a molehill... nonetheless, I welcome any suggestions and or tips!
