  2. that means you dont have a working ASPI layer...download ForceASPI 1.7 at http://www.doom9.net and install that and you will get the latest ASPI Layer for your computer and try to play the DVD with a player to unlock the player

  3. but, what does it mean when i load a dvd into the drive and it runs but doesn't play the vid? it locks and i have to reboot in order to eject it. this only happens on a couple of dvd's, not all......

  4. Make sure you have a WORKING ASPI LAYER installed. You can do a search for Aspi Checker and it should pop up a few sites with this program. Its small to d/l and will check your ASPI layer and tell you if you need to upgrad. From experience, ditch Smartripper and use DVD Decryptor (sp). I had a similar problem with "some files are still locked" - even though I played the dvd before trying it. Playing the dvd before you rip it is supposed to "unlock" it from what I read. Again RESULTS MAY VARY!. I have had great results from DVD Decryptor. Give it a try and good luck!

  5. i'm not sure if it locks or if the drive crashes. the light on the player is lit as if its running but nothing plays. i can't even explore the dvd's. if the dvd is old or played alot could that cause it? i get the same problem with some of my cdrw's. except with those i get a warning that the cd is going bad.......

  13. I Think after you install ForceASPI, you should also get the ASPI Layer updating to 4.60 Build 1021, cause I think the one that ForceASPI puts is 1019.
