    I have used Auto GK to convert mpg2 to xvid, no problem. Is there a way to easily convert mpg1 to xvid? Auto GK wont do it, I guess it doesnt like mpg1? Any ideas out there?

    VirtualDub-Mpeg2.
    Then follow one of the numerous guides for converting to DivX/XviD using VirtualDub.

    Yup. Any VirtualDub Can Do Mpeg1 . It's Mpeg2 that you have to get the modifed VirtualDubs.
