I haven't taken the side off my case yet to see if it is indeed the processor fan that is chirping but I suspect it is. Probably not a big deal is it? Just started about a week ago.

You might want to open it up and make sure nothing's loose.

You might want to install MBM5 and see if your fan is running too slow and maybe you should get a new heatsink/fan.

If you get up near 85C and it keeps running, the CPU, not the fan, you might get a meltdown, unless your MOBO gives you the option to shut down.

If you can remove the fan from the heatsink just try dusting it off in and around the hub and everywhere else. I actually clean my fans with static-resisting Endust on a cotton swab. I clean those off when I clean out my cases every 3-4 months. If that doesn't work just replace the fan. What kind of HSFs are they?

If your Northbridge chip has a fan and not just a heatsink, theres a good chance its that, if you had an ABIT board Id say it was that 4 sure!! But those go bad prematurely so it could be that.

Try cleaning the fan with compressed air. It the noise doesn't go away or does go away but comes back, get a new fan; you'll need it.

I'm going to open the case this weekend and use compressed air to clean the whold thing out. Haven't done that for awhile now...maybe 6 months so it's time.
