    they are not going after anyone -- the program just searchs for p2p and media files .. so the parent can delete them (or use them themselves)

    Not only does the MPAA want parents to snoop on kids, they offer faulty software that detects the wrong things. Imagine the scenario...

    1) Parent downloads MPAA snoopster and deletes all files turned up in search, including Windows legal files.

    2) Teen kid rails because his system is all messed up. Learns neophyte mom or dad messed with his system.

    3) Teen engineers the network so mom and dad can no longer access his files, or their own.

    yeah, I was reading on another forum that this has misidentified HP printer .exe files as P2P app files, and recommends deleting them... along with .wav files that are native to Windows and installed by default (like "ding.wav")

    it will also tag a file as questionable if you change the extension to .mp3, even if the contents of the file are really a .pdf or .txt
