  1. hello all, i think this is my very first post here.
i got the anime DVD 'Metropolis' some time ago, it has the movie DVD (regular size) and also an extras mini-DVD. i have a sony DVP-CX870D, its a 301 disc DVD/CD changer. but theres no way i can figure out to load/store/play a mini-disc in this dang thing!! if my memory is accurate, there are these doughnut shaped plastic holder things that one could use, but i have no idea where or how to acquire one. can anyone help me out? i would like to store this mini-disc in my changer with everything else..

Back it up to a regular sized disk and forget about it.

Agreed. Something like that might be collectible one day. Back it up (along with any other related files that might fit) onto a regular recordable and forget about it.

And to add to the above...I don't have any experience with this donut thing your refferring too but I wouldn't put it in a disc changer. It's liable to come apart and jam up the machine.

  5. thanks for the replies..
yes, i think i just might give up and do what you all have suggested. i'd even learn something in the process, i dont currently know how to back up dvds. i checked my owners manual for the DVD changer (sony DVPCX870D) , from page 16... this is where i had that memory of hearing what i was looking for (plastic doughnut thingy)

    "Notes
-When you insert an 8 cm (3-inch) CD, be sure to attach a Sony CD-single adaptor (not supplied) to the disc and only use the EASY PLAY slot.
Do not insert an empty 8 cm (3-inch) CD adaptor. It may damage the player."

so, especially since i use the EASY PLAY slot for rentals, it looks like i will be going the backup route. it would be nice though to get one or two of those apparently unusual holders. just to add to my collection of clinking, clanking, clattering, caliginous junk maybe ill call or email Sony.

It's probably cheaper to buy a DVD player knowing Sony.
