I would think that you could probably use any capture card that would work with Virtualdub and just select Divx or Xvid or Picvideo or whatever codec you wanted under video compression (as long as your system was fast enough to keep up).

  3. Thanks lantern,
I was ment to ask for a card that does that in hardware (without using the cpu).

  4. Plextor ConvertX -- hardware Divx capture.

Although, from what I've heard, realtime hardware mpeg 4 capture is not as good at compressing as two pass software compression.

It's really not worth it... Software encode a good quality cap and you'll get much better results.

  6. ATI All-In-Wonder is the only one that can do full resolution DivX MPEG-4 capture in realtime.

Hmm... I do not think ATI AIW is the only one that can do full res. Plextor M402U does the capture very well. As the matter of fact AIW is using software to capture it one pass and there is no dedicated chip to capture DIVX, AFAIK. Whereas Plextor M402U has a dedicated chip to do DIVX capturing.

Plextor M402U can capture 720x480 (4MB) DIVX (certified).
