  1. Hello. is there any software that i can use to back up my vcr collection to dvd.i want to transfer it to pc then convert it to dvd.thanx in advance

  2. Mate, there is so much info on this site about this topic already - do some searches on 'VHS to DVD' etc... and look at the guides (link on the left).

    My opinion for what it is worth.

    backup via standalone recorder or via pc ??
    standalone recorder = check of available firmware upgrade to disable MV or seperate device to do same between source and recorder.

    via pc capture device = check for ability to bypass MV. Either default ability of device or again additional one.


    ADS usb InstantDvd-2 or DvdExpress are hardware encoders that will do this. I am sure there are others, check out the features

    Standalone recorder is the simplest, fastest but pc gives many more options as to editing/special effects, itc
