  1. OK after reading the comments on DVD SANTA and that it would suit a NEWBIE like myself I decided to invest.

OK Two DIVX files making up my film to convert to DVD - Simple Well I thought so.

Converted both the fles to one DVD no problem but the first file has no picture but has sound for the duration , the second (file) part is perfect. I've converted twice now just to double check, same result though.

So now I'm confused Both the files play perfect in DIVX format.

Where have I gone wrong.... please keep it SIMPLE as I'm new to this but learning slowly.

My honest opinion ? You went wrong buying an all-in-one rather than learning the proper way to do things. It takes a little longer, but the results very soon become predictable, and much better than DVD Santa can produce.

If you have the disk space, consider converting your DivX video to uncompressed or a lossless compression, then converting through DVD Santa.

Basically what he said, although I wouldn't bother converting the DivX to anything else first, as I think it's just a waste of time with no real benefits.

    If in doubt, Google it.

Essentially I agree with both the above posters (that DVDSanta is not really worth the money). I tried the trial version but didnt think much of its abilities.

However if you want to try again, make sure that there is NOTHING running in the background, no virus scanning software, nothing at all....then try converting it again.

I say this because i had two avi files which i joined and converted in one go with the trial version and first go it was crap and the sound sync was appauling. but 2nd go it was fine...

HOwever if you are willing to take the lose, learn by experience and move on, then get a different converter and go from there....
