  1. I know that asking for the best is a no no. That said, I'm too new to know what will likely give good results. Are the "best" worth the extra money?

Burning way too many coasters on my Plextor 708A. I have the firmware updates for the drive, Encore 1.5, Roxio Easy CD/DVD, and Nero 6 Ultra.
I'd just like a fairly consistant burning experience.

In wishing to lable the media, I've pretty much guessed that stick on doesn't get it done, plus it looks cheap. I purchased a ne Epson R320 in hopes of doing it close to right, realizing that the big dogs in the tall bushes silk screen.

    Thanks in advance,

    me

  2. I would stay away from Princo, Memorex, and Optodisc. Prodisc and Ritek slipping too. Maybe Taiyo Yuden, some TDK and some Fuji.
    Check here too

  3. You are da man! Excellent. Did have a problem with the Fuji -R. But that was before firmware updates for the Plextor. Will have to try again.

    TANKS!

I would also recommend Verbatim. Media codes MCC003 and TY92

  5. "Made in Japan" is the main thing to look for, because the rest is just risky. Brands don't mean much, it's the media code that matters. Find that out then look up the reviews in the media section here. Also, I believe Plextor prefers "+" media. Be sure book type is set to DVD-ROM. When printing, refer to this thread. www.supermediastore.com, www.meritline.com, and www.rima.com good sources for media. Also, check out the Plextor forum over at www.cdfreaks.com
