when i followed this guide:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/copy_dvd_to_xvid.cfm
Under the Deinterlace with Smart Deinterlace (optional) heading it suggests if your file is interlaced that you do this step.. mine is but when i load the deinterlace in the filters it asks for the
vfp file you extracted from the smartdeinterlace's package
How do i get this? Or is there anotherway to make sure the xvid is insinc?
Thanks![]()

Sync issues are caused by a number of problems , and are too variable to make comment on there here now .
But here is what I do , and it may be of help in answering your question .
firstly I have nero re-encode reloaded , smart ripper (other rippers) , video codecs . audio codecs , virtualdub (mod) , ifoedit , vobedit , audiocity and bewsweet package (I created a self installalation package).
1: rip dvd with smart ripper
a: if asked to replace a file , do so (found in pal - pitch black dvd)
b: if smart ripper cant rip it , try another tool .
2: use ifo edit to stip main movie to another folder
3: use Vobedit to demux the movie ifoedit made
a: delete ripped dvd
b: delete ifoedits stripped movie content
4: Use vobedit to now demux complete title set of main audio
5: use besweet to convert ac3 audio to mp3 (down convert to 44.1khz)
6: use audiocity to convert mp3 to output at 96k (install lame codec)
Audio is done (delete ac3 file)
7: Check time dvd plays for
8: open nero re-encode (or bitrate calc)
9: in nero we are going to re-encode dvd to nero format
a: notice video size , and max bitrate nero says it will use to fit on 1 cd
b: these are what you write down for use in virtualmod
c: close nero re-encode
10: open vitualmod
11: select tools , script
a: if vobs are c:\movie\vts_07_1 , ect , then write the following
c:\movie\vts_07_1.vob
c:\movie\vts_07_2.vob
c:\movie\vts_07_3.vob
ect , ect , till all vobs are listed
12: save as vts_07.lst (must be same number , and extension as lst)
13: in virtualmod , load lst file
14: in new window , hit reset , choose no audio , click ok and wait
15: select video , compression , choose xvid
a: insert neros bitrate , and click ok twice
b: choose filters , click add , choose resize
c: uncheck "maintain aspect ratio"
d: in pixel size , width was 544 , hieght was 288 , click ok twice
16: select avi , audio 2 , sellect no audio
17: select avi , audio 1 , choose cbr mp3 , locate mp3 audio file
18: select audio , save as avi , give it a name and other info
19: let it rip
20: when done , burn to cd and enjoy
a: plays in dvd home players supporting mpeg4 playability .
21: for higher quality video
a: in compression stage , choose 2 pass
b: do low pass first
c: when high pass is ready to go you will need to input low pass info
d: when doing second pass , add the audio file
Well that explains the way I get no audio sync issues .
Too many people are using vbr in audio , which is incorrect , audio standards for players specify cbr only , not vbr .
Video can be both vbr or cbr , this standard is widely excepted .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I personally have sent cds to other people just to see what they recon about my quality , and all reports is I know what I'm talking about .
Even offers to buy them from me , but I dont step over certain rules , every conversion I have done is from legally purchased dvds , i dont do pirated stuff period .
Some have bought pirated dvds , and my conversions beat them in every way possible in both video and audio quality .
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Try my way of creating xvid files and see if you like it too
