  1. Hi firends,i would like to knopw if there is a software in which you can load 2 video screens,in which in the one you open the original video and then the converted/encoded/transcoded in order to tell the difference in the quality.

Well you can always open your video software twice, but do you mean a split screen within the same program?

Vegas and Premeire have split screens for adjusting filters. I'm not sure if that feature is in the consumer versions of those programs but it probably is in Sony Vegas Movie Studio.

I haven't tried comparing a DVD vob in Vegas.

Vegas 5 will split screen the input to the filter or chain of filters to the output on both the computer monitor and a video monitor connected via IEEE-1394.

VirtualDubMod & Avisynth will do just about anything you could possibly want.

Will it provide realtime external interlaced video monitoring as you preview filter adjustments ?

If so I'm there. I want it now.

I use vdub all the time in many special quality analisys etc.

It's the best tool to use (freeware) and offers two panes..

You have a Left and Right pane. By default, the Right pane is your
filter pane. I tend to swap it Options\SwapIn/Out.. and use
whatever portion of the window that is left, for minuut screutny, etc.
(picture someone w/ my magnifier - that's me)
    .
You can also swap the pane from left/right, and also from top/bottom.
    Which ever makes you happy
    .
I've tried top and bottom, but this doesn't go well with me, so I opt
to keep the left/right panes gain. (but whatever works for ya)

    vdubMOD (mpeg-2) ...

This is a great too, specially for its almost wysiwyg approach and how
it allows you to edit a given script (ie, AVIsynth *.AVS) and press
the F5 button to get an almost LIVE update. But, if you use a script,
then you don't benefit the two panes approach, because you aren't
using vdub filters, you are using a script (w/ filters) *but* if you
use filters in vdubMOD (in addition to your scripts) then you will
benefit ( but *only* ) on the vdub side of things, because the scripts
w/ filtes are already feed into vdubMOD, so both panes will have the
    same contents

With vdub, you have the speed and space to work with. While the other
applications are already hogging your pressious RAM and cpu resources.

    That's about it for now,

AVISynth with stackvertical() or stackhorizontal(). horizontal works well for widescreen stuff.
subtitlle() is also usefull so that you know which is which.

Okay. It's a fairly intuitive interface. What are you stuck on?

Open your file with it and compare the two preview panes after you've applied whatever filters you're going to use.

  21. I believe the OP is desiring to compare 2 DIFFERENT files, which SFAIK Vdub will not do. Opening twice would not allow for simultaneous frame advance.

Using AVISYNTH with the stack option to feed vdub the 2 files would seem like the only solution.
