What is a good quality hub printable for a fair price. I heard that the 4X DVD-R Prodiscs were good, but can't find them. Rima has 8X, are they any good? Are the Optodisc any good?

    Thanks in advance......

Anyone? I have searched and searched again. I was hoping someone would be able to recommend something for my specific burner. I am running Herries hacked version of the 2.18 firmware.
What is the latest on the "fake" TY at shop4tech that people were buying? Are they any good, even if the media code is not real, are they giving good burns? Are the Optodisc at Rima any good? I am afraid of Ritek, it seems everyone is having troubles with them these days.
I know TY are the cats meow, but I am looking for something a little cheaper.

    Thanks again

  3. I have used Verbatim, part # 94854, from Buy.com. Very good media, code MCC 02RG20. They are about $43 for 50 with free shipping, but they were cheaper before, about $36, so maybe you can get a better deal elsewhere. I have also use Maxell (not hub-printable), again excellent media. I wish Maxell would make hub-printable, as they are supposed to be as good as TY.

I have the same burner and I have always used Ritek media with great results. I have burned about 400-500 and they are super.
RiteK G05 -R hub printables are very reasonably priced at Rima.com.
    Check it out.

Thanks joecav, Do you know if all of the Ritek 8X printables are G05 Hub Printable? Are you burning them at 8X? What firmware are you using?

    Thanks again.........

No, not all are hub printable, just make sure you read the description....and don't get "Thermal" printable...get "Inkjet" printable. Thermals won't work in your R200 if that's what you have.

Here's a LINK for the 8x hub printable (-R) 50 pack for $25. I have these exact discs and they burn at 8x on my NEW 2510a.

As for my firmware, I'll have to check. But HERE is a good firmware with a DL bitsetting hack.

    **EDIT**
    Actually just go HERE
Every firmware for the 2510a is listed. I am using the straight 2.16, I never flashed my drive. No problems at all though so I figured why bother.

Thanks again, I understand the "thermal" issue, I was just wondering if all of the
"Ridata 8x DVD-R Printable" are G05 Hub Printable or not. Not all companies advertise the full description. Some say they are "printable" some say "Hub Printable" some claim they are G05, some don't etc.
The reason I am asking is that I am getting ready to place an order for some other items as well and would include a spindle of media.

    Thanks,
    Shawn

Well I have no idea then. The link I provided to rima.com clearly states these are hub printable.

I'm sure there are flavors of G05's that are printable, but not hub printable. If your heart is set on hub printable, I'd call the retailer 1st to make sure so you don't get disappointed if they're not.

Yeah, I was just thinking I could do it the easy way and place one order. I think I will go ahead and order the G05's from Rima so there is no question. I figure I've had this R200 for 6 months or so now, I might as well print discs with it.

    Thanks again...........
