I consider to buy an Epson 200 cd/dvd printer. But now I hesitate since I read lots of topics at this forum complaining over the quality of the printable dvds. It seems almost like there is as much problems with printable as with labeld dvds.
Is it wothe to invest in an Epson and if yes what media is the best(except for Ty because they are a bit expensive for my taste)?
I consider these discs:
Ritek 8x Printable DVD-R (Ritek L23 dye/G05)
Traxdata 8x Full Face Printable DVD-R (Ritek L23 dye/G05)
Ridata 4x Printable DVD-R (G04)
Ritek 4x Printable DVD-R (G04)
Datasafe 4x PRINTABLE DVD-R (ProdiscS03)
Pioneer Pio Data Printable 8x DVD-R (Ritek L23 dye/G05)
Datawrite 8x Inkjet Printable. (CMC MAG. AE1)
Datawrite 8x "Full Face" Inkjet Printable (FUJIFILM03)

How can $68 / 100 at rima for TY hub printables be too expensive for your taste????
Top quality media = no worries! = well worth it in my book.No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD! -
He mentions datawrite and traxdata; those are brands available in Europe, so Rima won't help him. TY media is indeed a lot more expensive in Europe than in the US. Still, Espen you should look at Verbatim printables. None of those media codes you list there are all that great; medicore at best.

I have the R200 and was printing on Prodisc....then all hell broke loose. Returned over 250 to retailer for refunds... I know use Verbatim (94812) Hub Printables. These discs are awesome, and I noticed that they look 100x better when using krylon spray then the Prodisc did. Prodiscs had blotches, Verbatim looks smooth and glossy using the exact same can of krylon....

First you have to know what is the best media for your burner. Then you select the printable version.
There is not a "best" disc. There are some that will work better for you.
Example: G05. Some people complains, some are in heaven. Same discs.
From a printing point of view. I have tried many brands and concluded that different surfaces require different settings. IMO, I was able to produce excellent and bad results with all of them. Now that I know what settings to use, I only print excellent results.
Hope this will help you and buying the F200 is definitively a good idea. -
Prodisc Hub Printables media code R03 are faulty media....just be aware that if you buy Prodisc you may get that batch.....if so return rest for $$ refund, don't bother exchanging. I did tis 4 times still got R03's

I recently purchased (DEC 04) Verbatim Hub print (94812) MCC003, great media.....
