I burn a lot of stuff, and exactly what is "verification" and why does it take so bloody long? I'm guessing it's checking your data to make sure it burned correctly, but even if it DIDN'T, your disc is junk, right? So why sit through a 20 minute or so verification when the disc only took 6 minutes to burn? When it gets to verification, just abort and pop your disc in to see if it's good...![]()

Verification checks what you just burned
with what still exists on your HD, sector by sector.
So, if for instance there is a bad sector on the disc
that would cause your disc to fail or otherwise "skip",
verification would find it. YOU might not find it until
you play the disc all the way through, and on a full
DVD Disc Copy backup, it might not show until
the seventh deleted scene within the second set of
extras, if you know what i mean...."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."
