super-heavy audiophile lp's are frequently 180 grams each, probably twice as heavy as regular lp's.

    depends on the album, though.

if you're going to do this frequently, invest in a scale - they aren't terribly expensive (an older spring-loaded [analog] mail scale can be found for peanuts these days - a department in my office that's moving just threw away 3 or 4.)

my digital scale used to be connected to a mail-room mailing machine, now deceased. when they were hauling away the carcass, they let me keep the scale - no good for rates, but for weight it's fine.

  4. Thanks!
However, i dont totally agree on the scale-issue ... i've been looking around the classified-pages for scales and most used ones here in sweden are quite expensive. I'm not talking about small scales for a couple of envelopes, though.

how many albums are you sending out?

if we assume that it's roughly 100 grams for a single lp, are you telling me you can't find an affordable scale that goes up to 1 kilogram? (10 lps).

most office-supply stores here sell small scales that go up to 5 lbs or so (2.5 kilos) for $20-30.
