Media code for those will always be MCC003. The only TY under Verbatim brand is Datalifeplus Pastels, which aren't sold in the US/Canada market.

  3. The last Verbatim DVD+R 8x that I purchased was a 50 pack spindle from Sam's Club. Over 2/3 of the disks were coasters and had I completely filled the remaining 1/3 they too would have probably been coasters. All the coasters developed dark spots at the outer edges after being written and could not be read. I will never purchase another Verbatim disk.

I'm sorry you had such an experience, but if we all stopped buying particular media when we get one bad batch (when otherwise the media is hiqh quality) none of us would have any discs...

  8. too bad Amazon lists them as "In Stock Soon" and "Estimated ship date for this item: February 12, 2005 - February 26, 2005" ...your postmark has to be Feb...what? that's right, 28th! so, it would seem you will be cutting it EXTREMELY close, if getting the rebate at all. i wouldn't chance it.
