Here we go again, more problems that haven't been solved yet.

    1. Time Clock seems to be advancing by 10 to 12 minutes per day
    2. Washed out Recordings and Playback (Contrast and Brightness way off)

Waiting for a new firmware or just replaced the units manufactured 8/04 to 12/04 to fix the problem.

Temporary fix for the Time Clock advanced is to a RESTORE TO DEFAULT
By doing this it will only last 20 days before it start up advancing.

Yes, but you'll have to reset the entire DVD Recorder to keep the clock on track.

What's the manufacturer date on the rear of the unit?

Have you updated the firmware on it or done anything to it? Do you use it a lot for recording off the air or just dubbing stuff?

One question when did you purchased your unit? Or how long do you have it?

Right now I am keeping my eye on the 5006, I'll see how the 5101 is working later...

    Hi,

do these lite-on units have a hard drive? if you record does it go straight to DVD? If you are using DVD-R will it continue to record until it is full and then close it?

I am new into these TV to DVD units.

  15. I have the same washed out picture (contrast and brightness way too high) with the 5007. I tried two of them and they both have the same problem.

You need to get the Liteon 5045 with the 160GB HDD, this model the Liteon 5101 uses the DVD+R and DVD+RW to record. Yes the DVD disc will record until it's full.
