  1. I'm backing up Shaun of the Dead by having DVD Shrink reauthor and compress the ripped movie. Under compression settings it gives me 2 separate "AC-3 2 Channel English," and each is 142 megs. What is the difference between these 2?

If I eliminate both of the AC-3 2 Channel English audio tracks and only keep the 5.1 English track, can I still hear the audio if I'm not running through a 5.1 Surround System?

    Thanks

  2. Except now that I am looking at it, the movie is just under 4.7 gigs so I don't need any compression at all. However, I would like to know about the different audio tracks and if I can just get rid of the 2 channel audio.

If I keep the audio tracks can I switch between them without a menu?

One is probably a director's commentary or something, and you should be able to choose between them using your DVD remote - it might have an audio or setup button, depending on what type of player you have. Use DVDShrink's preview window to listen to each audio stream - I think you just right-click on the preview window and you can choose which audio you wish to preview.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  4. yeh theres director and stars of the film commentaryand a zombie commentary as well.
youll hear the film fine with just hre 5.1 sound and no 5.1 hardware just fine.
mind you the sombie commentary is quite funny, hearing them go on about "oh,thats me sinking my teeth into bill nighy" etc.

Shaun of the Dead wouldn't shrink for me I am using DVD shrink 3.2.0.15 and I have shrunk it four times already it is still 6 gigs.

I am going to try Nero Recode which I don't like cause it takes four times as long as DVD Shrink and with no difference in quality.

I have had to shrink DVD's twice before to back them up but Four times and it's still 6 Gigs is Ludicris (spelled wrong I can't spell I know)

    Anybody else have this problem?

I am using Automatic compressiomn ratios on DVD Shrink.

I would try custom but the minimum ratio is what Automatic compression is defaulting to but that Ratio is in the 90's everytime for me.

Should I try an older versiojn of shrink I have DVD Shrink 3.1 .something?

Weird Only time I have ever had to shrink more than twice and twice has only happened less than tem times in the hundreds of DVD's I have backed up.

    Weirdness
