Ok. Coming down from the Newbie forum... be a bit gentle with me.
Didn't have luck searching... likely USER error... So. I'm posting.

In addition to the main title (movie) on my DVD, I'd like to have a simple to intermediate "slide shows" of pictures.

I'm no longer using Nero Vision Express, but Sony Vegas Movie Studio; however, I don't want to render the JPGs as MPEG movies, obviously...

Is there a way to create typical slideshows with JPGs (converted to DAT, this I think I know) but with also the JPGs on the DISC too (for archival purposes) and be able to either use the cursor keys on a remote, or have it timed (with music), or I suppose that least desireable method, by chapter?

This is a bit new to me.
I'm getting the hang of all this quite quickly, however.

    Tools I use:

    Adobe Audition 1.5
    TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress
    TMPGEnc DVD Creator
    Nero 6.0 (for burning)
    Debugmode Frameserver
    Virtual Dub (all versions)
    etc. etc.

  2. For it to play in a DVD player with Music and all that kind of stuff, It must be made into a MPG file. To have just Pictures Jpg's most DVD players will read a CD/DVD with Jpg's On it.

PS: Some maybe all, Mine do. if I burn a DVD movie I can also add a folder with other data like Pictures.

    FREE slideshow program:

    Slide Show Movie Maker

my standalone won't read jpegs, so I use this to make slideshows...creates an AVI which needs to converted to MPG (easy to do with TMPGEnc)...works great...
    just a thought
