  1. I want to combine 3 MPEG2 clips into a single stream. When I combine them in Womble VCR using the Video Batch list, I can't seem to save the file in MPEG2 format. The resultant file is an MPR-VCR document file, whatever save method I select. What am I doing wrong?

Use the "Export" button. You can set the parameters for file format from there

Oops. I have a newer version of that app that has an export function. I had just assumed yours did too.

    Can't help you then

You must be using the old version of Wombles mpeg2vcr app.
Assuming you mean, for the older original version..

Once you copy a segment of video (or sent segments) to the video clipboard,
(and assuming you managed to merge them together, you take the last
complete mpeg-2 clip and save it by clicking on the canister icon (bottom)
and from there (you'll see a dialog box) you give your source a filename
and save it. Don't forget to select the (o) MPEG-2 Program Stream

  6. I do this, but it always saves as an MPG-VCR document file, never an MPEG2.

  7. Oh yes, it's working now. Thanks for the help. Is it me, or is video editing a complex business?

    It is.

Sorry, I misspoke earlier. I was thinking of a different app. MPEG Video Wizard (follow-on to MPEG2VCR) has a save button in the lower right corner.
