i am one of the lucky owners of the 8X Prodisc F01's from supermediastore.
they refuse to cross ship, the make me pay for return shipping of a defective product, and they won't work with me on shipping me a different product. they think 40% off 2nd day shipping is a good deal---at almost $17.00---not a very good deal.

i used to have great success with these people---maybe it is time to try someone else.

also--SUPERMEDIASTORE--how in the hell is $17.00 for 2nd day shipping 40% off when RIMA's price on second day shipping is the same?? and RIMA does not advertise thier shipping at 40% off.

For you to pay return shipping is accepted practice. Everybody does it. Don't fool yourself into thinking somebody else will be different. It sucks, I agree. But that's business these days.

Not makig a deal with you on shipping? Yeah, that sucks too. Did you call them? That may work better than e-mail/forum. Worth a try.

yeah---i called them. waited on hold and got transferred around, only to be offered 40% off second day air at $17.00---not a good deal when RIMA is also the same price on 2nd day air and RIMA is not advertising 40% off.

I thought they already gave 40% by default?

I've had to ship stuff back to RIMA too, and they cut me no break on reshipment either. Fortunately, I was not in a rush to get the replacements. This was late 2003, when RITEK quality started plummeting.

  6. Just in case you want to try Rima

    Hello Stiltman -

Unfortunately Prodisc sends mixed codes on this item number, so we are
unable to gaurantee a specific code for a specific order.

i'm with DVD DAVE, Supermediastore is a nightmare. They have terrible customer service, horrific is more like it and their prices aren't all that great so I have no reason to ever visit their site again. I wouldn't take any crap from them DVDDAVE, there's too many other online stores much better then supermediastore to even bother with them. Just my two cents from personal experience.

Heh...What's wrong with your prodiscs? Are they actually defective? How do you know they are? The F01's I've gotten form supermeida store are burning *great* at 12x, even.

My friend had a batch of F01's, that were horrible. The surface was literally falling off the discs, and flaking everywhere...Supermedia store paid for return shipping, exchanged the product, and gave him a coupon.

Here is wht I mean by falling off...

Like I said...paid for return shipping, had his replacements to him within 2 days, and gave him a coupon for his next order... heh...maybe your discs just dont get along with your FW/Drive etc.

my discs get along just fine. these pieces of shit from supermedia store just outright suck. when i turn them over, i can see thru the disc and i can see that the white top WILL peel off.

supermediastore should have at least let me place my order over the phone today and gave me 2nd day shipping free.

If that shit fell of in one of my drives, I would be on the evening news for the killing spree that would follow! I am glad that you posted those photos, now I have something else to worry about when I put a disk in my drive!
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?

  12. 5 S04 coasters in a row. Unfortunately, it's been past the 60 day return policy. Plus it's mid thru the cake

5 in a row...that just sucks and I still have one 50pak left. Before I started burning number 4, I totally inspected the disc with a magnifying glass. It looked perfect. The bad blocks started at 3.6gb Thats about were all of them started to die. I'm just getting ready for number 6. This time I'll burn it at 2x instead of 4x on my 106D with latest OEM Firmware

edit: make that 6 in a row
    edit: 7 now

I think this thread should be more along the lines of "I am done with PRODISCF01 INKJET MEDIA"

I have heard almost no praises for the INKJET version of F01. The non-inkjet seems to be fine. It's something with the label, and probably the wobble. Something just isn't right here.

I'm afraid that regardless of where you buy these exact discs, you're probably not going to be happy.

I've been watching this general issue for about 6 weeks now, and one of my testers has especially.

5 in a row? Try about 35 in a row of the S04. I have a brand new LG4160 and thought it had to be the drive. Anything under 3.5-3.6 GB seemed okay but anything over and it was coaster after coaster.

I went and bought an HP 630i and had a little better success but still a very high failure rate. I could usually make it to 4GB with the HP but anything over didn't verify.

I have also had very good service through Meritline.

  17. What's the old saying;
"you get what you pay for" or
    as I learned from a friend;
"good things not cheap and cheap things no good"

It just seems to me that RIMA has the best score all around. I've not encountered many posts with problems, and for the most part any of the ones mentioned have had the problem fixed by RIMA with positive results.

All I know is that RIMA got my first order and will continue to get my other orders, even if they are a few $more. Some how it seems worth it to have little or no hassles.

    My 2cnts....

    Merry Christmas everyone....

    later...

Lord Smurf, I have had a great deal of success with these discs, especially recently. Been burning the Silver Inkjet Printable at 12x...no more whites left to try a 12x burn on. But they were a little shady for awhile...I do agree, but the last 3 batches or so (I get about a batch a week, sometimes two delivered - 100-200 discs), have been GREAT to me. I was very unhappy with these at first.

Now? Well...I wont say I'm in love with prodisc again - yet. But these discs are very slowly gaining my appreciation.

    Cheap is as cheap does.

The cheap often becomes very expensive.

  20. I pay a little more at Runtechmedia but I love em. I've called and talked DVD media for 30 minutes once with a real nice dude there. I also called back before buying my DVDBUSTER burner and chatted for like 45 minutes. I've ordered about 500 Riteks, 600 DVD Cases, and the burner from them all in perfect condition! Just telling my experiance but I've never ordered from those other places. I did call Supermediastore once and the guy on the phone just wasn't that friendly and didn't seem like he even wanted to talk to me so I never even thought of doing business with them

So the silver inkjet seem to be better media, than the lousy white inkjets that I have returned 3 times in a row? Maybe I'll try the silver ones.....
