yes i reallly dont like cracks..but if a company has a programs that cost way toooo much like for a sound editor for 500 dollars i would use the crack...would you pay 500 doloars for a sound editor you wont use that much?????

They spend pennies to produce each cd but think its worth hundreds? (or thousands for some stuff)

sure, I understand they need to make their production costs,etc back.... but wouldnt that be better made back on a larger level by selling software at lower prices?

there already is extra taxes on cdrs here in canada

In case folks didn't know, there has been a "surcharge" (TAX) placed on all blank
cassette tapes and blank video tapes (VHS, Beta, etc) for years. This money goes
to the artists and companies to "compensate them for casual copying". In other words,
you've already paid a fee for the copying of a disk or tape.

Putting a surcharge on CDRs and CDRWs is surely going
to happen, if it already hasn't.

That surcharge is actually why the music-only cd-r's (for the standalone burners) cost many times as much as normal cd-r's.

They're having a hard time justifying putting that tax on regular cd-r's, though, because the user may just be using them to copy data off his hard drive.
