I don't believe they're the same. I've had different experiences with all of them. The brands they stock seems to be slightly different too ....

Lordsmurf would know. He's the resident media vendor expert around here

  3. They are all different companies. There has been discussion about this in the past.

    No relationship there either.

    www.dvd-rwmedia.com = www.supermediastore.com
    www.cdrdvdrmedia.com = www.meritline.com

Those are the only two I am aware of.

The are all simply selling crap-quality no-names (or fake) media under a "house name" or "generic" name. Nothing more.

Yep Some advertise "Leda" media and used to list Leda as the manufacturer. It's BS. Leda is really Princo media, which is junk

Don't believe the "Manufacturer" listed on these vendor sites ...most don't even make the media themselves.

I see that Shop4tech has finally come clean, after a post exchange here a while back, and has decided to disclose that "Leda" media is really Princo:

    http://www.shop4tech.net/50prindvcas1.html

They used to list the manufacturer as being "Leda", which is merely a name they bought, and set up a separate website:

    http://www.leda-dist.com/media.html

They used top use the same e-mail address as Shop4tech, but have it disguised now.

The site makes it sound like they make it, but if you read it closely, they never say "they" manufacture it. They say "it is manufactured to ISO9001...blah blah", and the site makes it obvious that they distribute it, and don't actually make the media themselves. Someone not wary might assume that Leda is an actual manufacturer.

Be careful buying cheap media. Nowadays the good stuff is not much more expensive than the cheap crap ...only 5 or 10 cents a disc, most of the time, so it makes little sense to buy "Joe's DVD-R" when you can get the quality Japan-made stuff

I don't see "PRINCO" anywhere on there.

And it says "High quality organic dye" which is BS too. Princo uses a cyanine derivative/variation. It's not completely organic.

This is sort of like advertising that car tires are round. Duh.

Yeah. Look at the URL too ...kind of a tipoff. I think they did that after you and I had a discussion with them about "truth in advertising" right here

I'd like some evidence on that before I bite. It would not be too hard to trace tax records, etc., but I don't really care that much (not to do it myself).
