Im so sick of all this crap that gets into my PC worms virus adware and so on. I know only go on the net with

I have another install of my OS if I get a virus in there I really do not care. Plus I plan of runnong one of the linux OS in my Virtual PC at times.

My host PC from now on will never go on the net ever again. Well may be for a online PC game and that about it then.

Ever heard of www.topologlinux.com? If your concerned about security I would highly recommend you run a real install of linux or BSD, very secure OSes. Also check out www.freebsd.org

What's the panic? If you felt this way about everything then you'd never attempt to cross a busy road. All you need is common sense and precautions.

As long as you're behind a firewall, have up to date antivirus and check every now and again with anti spyware software then you should be fine. I click on all sorts of links and visit pages that attempt to install all sorts of crap but they never do me any harm because they are blocked right at the source - firewall, antivirus, ad blocker.

/edit: I realise that some may say that a firewall is by no means complete protection by a determined hacker but is anyone that determined to get into your machine? If whatever you have in there is so crucial then you'd have an unconnected machine for all your important work. I'm sure most people know about Half Life 2 by now... /endedit

Besides, this thread is about the phpBB forum worm. If you're worried about Windows being infected then realise that VideoHelp.com runs on Apache/2.0.46 (Red Hat). Not Windows - Linux.

I hate virtualPc- You need the resources of two computers -just to run it.

IMO too much of a resource hog for everyday use. Good for trying out OSes though.
