I have a NEC-2500A DVD burner and I would like to know what firmware version I have. I could not find anything on NEC's web site.

I can see mine when I open DVD Decrypter in the write Iso mode. Pioneer 108 1.14 is the first thing in the window on the right.

Use the Nero InfoTool included with Nero Burning ROM in the sub directory called 'Nero Toolkit'. It'll tell you everything you wanted to know and quite a few things you didn't want to know about every drive in yr computer.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I never thought of running these tools. I was trying to figure it out by looking at device manager settings in windows XP. I tried DVD Decryptor in write ISO mode and it only told me the name of the drive. So then I tried DVD Identifier and that did the trick. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
