Any way to do this yet? Putting more than 1 DVD onto a DVD-R with the menus to both intact?

Yep. Do a search. DVD Remake Pro can do it.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Whoa did not think there would be one....

You have experience useing this program? How long does it take for resizeing? Is it easy enough to do?

Also is it the only program out there right now, or are there others that can do it as well?

Sorry I've got NFI as to any usage of it - but there's a guide written by dimad in the guides section that steps you through it. From what I've read, it was going to be as easy as going to a menu option that's called merge 2 DVDs or something similar, specify the two VIDEO_TS folders on your HD and it'll do the rest, along with creating a front menu, that links to each original menu. I don't know off the top if that's been implemented yet though.

I'm not aware of any other program that can do it this simply
    If in doubt, Google it.

A guide to use it? darn.... Hope its not that complicated.

So is it the only program though capable of it? Wish DVD2One would upgrade to that feature.

  6. DVD2One can also do it. Just rip DVD to hard drive. Then pick Disc Copy and set output to user define at 2200mb. Do it for both movies then you can pick both movies and use DVD2One's join feature to bring both to one DVDR. And Burn.

    No menus, dude

We want to retain original menus here
    If in doubt, Google it.

With the menu's to both intact????

I know about DVD2One's join feature, but it takes away the menus and just does the movie.

  10. Sorry I was under the impression that DISK COPY under DVD2One did the whole DVD (menus and all). Maybe I'm wrong but I believe thats what it does. Maybe your right I haven't saved a whole DVD in a while.

  11. I believe if you use DVD2One and use Disk Copy it will give you menus and all. You can also look into DVDShrinks for joining 2 movies might be an option. Try either before spending $200.

It does, but the problem comes when you have two menu managers conflicting against each other - if you join two discs as you say, which disc's VIDEO_TS files are used ? See the problem ? That's why you need a program that can manage this for you, and create a new menu that links to each of the two existing menus. I had a look at that guide and it appears that it's as simple as opening both folders, then going to Merge Discs on the menu, so it's not that hard really.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Don't mean to sound like a know-it-all, but neither DVDShrink or DVD2One can do it while retaining menus for both. period. When used on a single disc, yes, sure, but not when joining two discs together. DVDRemake Pro is the only software that can do this ATM, plain and simple.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Yeah DVD2One can do a full copy, but what i want to do is a full copy of more than 1 DVD onto a single DVD-R, with the menus to BOTH intact.

DVD2One unfortunitly cannot do this yet. It has a join feature but it only include the movies, not the menus, on 1 disc.

I LOVE DVD2One for full disk processing.Hopefully the ability to do multiple discs will be available in a future upgrade.

Ok i went through that guide and tried to do it with the demo version of DVD remake pro, but i won't let me even make a test disk because its a demo.

I look on the site for a trial version and there is none. I'd have to buy the program for a $32! I can't even fully test the program beforehand to see if its even worth that kinda money. For example in the DVD merge menu, there is only an option for up to two projects, if i bought the programs i'd be looking to combine at least 4 DVDs at a time.

Also does DVD remake do the encodeing? Or do i have the option to save the project and resize/encode with the program of my choice, like DVD2One? Since there is no trial version i cannot test anything out to see for sure....

    Argghhhhhh.

That's correct. The limitation of the trial is that you cannot export the final product, but you can do everything else. I don't know much more than that about it - hopefully dimad might be able to assist you with any in-depth queries about the program.

  17. I just got done joining 3 Winsor Pilates DVD. I really didn't care for the title menu DVD Remake does, so I created a custom menu in TDA and the just copied DVD Remakes button commands over to my custom menu....Took me a while to figure it out and all, but I think it looks better

So you've bought and used DVD Remake Pro.I have a question about processing up to 4 DVDs to 1 DVD-R then....

Could'nt i just process two DVDs with DVD remake Pro, then process another 2, and then finally process BOTH sets together,4 DVDs total, a last time with DVD remake pro? The resulting DVD could have a menu with 2 buttons.... both linking to the both sets processed, whose own menu's would allow access to the individual titles.

That would work for 4 DVDs with the program eh?

Yep, from what stiltman has said in another thread, that's about the gist of it, although you might want to try experimenting with adding your own menu, so you could have one menu with four choices, instead of 2 menus with 2 choices each.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Hope thats not too complicated....thats the only thing i'm unsure of, is the menus. Like how to customize them.

Not wanting anything fancy just a bit organized. Got a link to any guides?

There's a guide to customising the menu here, there's a link to it at the bottom of this guide, which was found in the guides section

Didn't you learn that lesson from last time ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

What, you expected it to be 1 click ?

I had a read and it sounds OK. I just have no use for the program

Do you know how to convert a bitmap or jpeg image into a .VOB file format? Preferabley bitmap....

I ask because i found out the menu thingy on DVD Remake Pro is just 1 still image. Which i could easily extract, and modify in a simple program like MSpaint to say what i want. Unfortunitly the image, while able to be exported in bitmap format, is a still a .VOB file and my modified image needs to be a .VOB file as well for the program to accept it as a replacement for the original.

Thats it, just changeing a bitmap to .VOB file format. Any simple, free programs out there that can do this? Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds to me like you need to convert your BMP file to a DVD-compliant MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 file and then author it to create a VOB file.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Use an MPEG encoder (such as TMPGEnc) that can accept still images to create the MPEG file, just like you would if creating an MPEG movie. Author it using authoring software (such as TMPGEnc DVD Author) and then you'll have your VOB file.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Ahhh that seems to have worked. Thanks

Though since the demo does not allow export of DVD files, i'm unable to test for sure if my theory on the menu would work. Also TMPGEnc DVD author created a few other files in addition to the new .VOB image, i wonder if i need to insert those as well.

I should'nt need to if i merely want to replace the image menu....i guess

TMPGEnc DVD Author would have created VIDEO_TS IFO, BUP and VOB and possibly VTS_01_0 IFO, BUP and VOB and probably VTS_01_1.VOB. You are right - you only need the VOB that has the picture in it. Discard the rest.
    If in doubt, Google it.
