FTC OKs $10.3B Purina, Nestle Merger
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Federal regulators approved the $10.3 billion purchase of Ralston Purina by Swiss food giant Nestle S.A., clearing the way for a pet-food empire with such brands as Alpo, Purina, and Friskies.
Now the Nestle Bunny has some new friends

This reminds me of a story I heard once (oh no here he goes) In the U.K. we have a brown spread (yeast extract) called "Marmite". Every jar of marmite has the unlisted ingredient of a dead starling (common british bird) in it. What happens is the yeast ferments in these huge vats, situated in large air-craft hangar type buildings. Unfortunately birds come down, feast on it and enjoy their last supper. To rid this product of all the corpses, an acidic substance is added to melt down all the bones. So remember next time you indulge in this vegetarian British treat,you'll be happy in the knowledge that many died to provide you with the ultimate "spread on your bread"
