    If I have already backed up a DVD using +R media can I just copy it with NERO to a -R blank 1:1 or will that not work.

    Yep this has been asked recently. It is just data and will copy perfectly.

    As the maximal capacity of a DVD-R/RW is slightly higher (4488 MB) than for DVD+R/RW it should always work in this copy direction, but might not work the other way around if a DVD-R/RW is filled up to the brim.
