I captured with a Leadtech 2000XP Deluxe at 352x480 using picvideo and then encoded to mpeg2 with TMPGenc using vbr 2-pass and left everything at default/ The resulting mpeg is washed out and much brighter than the avi. Are there any settings I can change to fix this?
This is the picvideo avi
This is the TMPGenc encoded mpg2
Thanks

I am not sure what that thread concludes, but I think it has mainly to do with captures from canopus cards and creating mpegs to view on the the PC. Am I right?
I have just tried using simple collor correction and lowering the brightness and contrast and increasing the red slightly and this produced good results for the PC viewing. I am not sure how this will translate to the TV. -
hmmm- no , that is not what that thread is concludes - but im not sure what it concludes either
