What's the difference between these two players? I can't find anything on the web, besides one being black and the 444 being silver. Both play mp3's.

The difference is that the DV-444 has progressive scan output while the DV-440 does not.

Both slim dvd players play dvds, vcds, svcds, and mp3s.
Also, the 440 is sleek black while the 444 (pseudo-progressive player) is silver. -
Thanks guys for the replies!!!
I will get the 440, I don't need progressive scan.
Thanx! -
And you'd as well not pay 100$ more for the DV-444 and its "progressive scam".
The DV-444 is a product of marketing. I've been had. I purchased it.
It's progressive scan is missing all major necessary artifact correction algorithms, the output from the DV-444 Progressive Scan is HORRIBLE.
I know. I've got one hooked up a 50" HDTV. Had a friend try it out on his HDTV as well. Same stuff. Looked up on the web and confirmed it by some reliable reviews.
The DV-444's progressive scan is a SCAM.
It's so horrible we are now only watching interlaced using that player... Makes me wonder why I paid 100$ more for having progressive scan... And of course, shop won't take it back so I'm stuck with that crappy player.
