  1. Please bare with me, this is my first time playing around w/ video stuff.

anyway, I have this MPEG file 36,000KB (about 11 minutes) that need to be played in web browser ( for my client website ). My questions are :

    1. how to compress it so people can watch it through their web browser instead of download it & save it in their computer ? my client doesnt really care about the image quality, as long as people can hear the audio.

    2. what is the best size for dial-up user, so they can watch it without waiting 10 minutes or so ?

I've been searching around this forum, and I found this : https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=10 , but that's for a CD.

Anyway, thanks in advance !!! I would appreciate for any reply.

mpeg1 is the easy way to go -- but for much better quality use windows media 9 wmv compression .. it will play automatic in most web browsers and notify you if you need to install a codec ... you can have both a high and low (and other streams) bitrate in the same file -so it will play proper on both dial up and non dial up accounts ..

another alternitive is to just make a flash movie ..

WMV is IMO the easiest/best/smallest for the end user also.
    If in doubt, Google it.
