  1. Just put together external hard drive and am unsure of the pin set up. It came cable select and that does not work. It also has settings Master, Cap limit or no jumper = slave. I would appreciate som one 's input on this.

    Cable Select requires a special cable. I'd opt for Master since it's a single drive enclosure.

  3. I still have a hard drive in the tower this going to be a secondary drive for backups if this info. helps?

    if you are connecting to USB then jsut use master. its dependent on the connection.. not how many you have .. since its a single enclousure. there is only one device so its master

  6. The external drive shows up under device manager but not under my computer . Is there another way install the hard drive. It is an 80gb maxtor with a bytecc me-7050 encloser.

    Create a partition and format that partition and it will show up in explorer

    You may have to go into Disk Management (Right click My Computer, click on Manage) to write a signature to the disk and make it accessible, as well as partitioning and formatting.
