What's the best place for online stock trading? For example, some are E-Trade, Datek, Ameritrade, etc....

This will be my first time and I have some knowledge in trading so that won't be a problem.

You can get by with any of them as long as time of execution isn't a critical concern for you. If you're day trading that's a concern, but if you're just tooling around making a few trades here and there, just go with whichever is offering the cheapest trade fees.

I'm with http://www.optionsxpress.com/ and am pretty pleased with them. They have pretty reasonable rates for options. These guys even have a virtual paper trading account in which you can practice real time.

I have used http://www.preferredtrade.com/, and they are pretty good too. These guys had pretty decent customer service, atleast a couple of years ago.

I am curious, what method do you use to pick stocks to trade? How much success have you had?
