    Hey
I had tried some of the prodisc (Media code/Manufacturer ID PRODISC R03) hub printable from Rima.com,
They sucked!!!! 15 coasters & 12 questionable good burns.

I decided to try these Ritek DVD-R 4.7GB, 8X, White Inkjet Printable ( Hub Printable) They state they are RITEKG05 but now i am reading diff. reviews on them as well.

Wondering if i should cancel the order and just say screw it & get the Taiyo Yuden & avoid another setback like with the Prodisc, except i really like the hub printables & they have no hub printables right now.

    Any thought's of i should try the Ritekg05's ??

    Thanks

Have burned approx. 150 Ritek G05 8x dvd-r hub-printables on my Nec 2500a. Not one coaster & a great printable surface. But do not know what they will be like on your LITE-ON SOHW-812S.

    Hi
    Thanks
Okay, well i checked a Fuji "TY" with a k-probe (non printable)

And here is one of the Prodisc HubPrintables

These Prodisc go to crap WAY before 4 gig's......

& i keep seeing how good the G05's are but no one say's if they are printables or not they are using (i'm guessing not) and i keep reading how all the inkjet printable's have been questionable.
& i will hate to have to send another batch back

So i just hoped someone knew if these were working out on a range of burners.

  5. If you were planning on buying alot of them, you might consider a new burner, liteons seem pretty picky. What works well on a NEC, Benq, or Pioneer might well choke on your Liteon. You can get a Benq or NEC for about $60 shipped.

I was thinking about a NEC also But i definately want one that will easliy change the book type on +R's, when i looked some up here they did'nt say whether they did or not.
    Like the NEC ND-3520A ?

  7. They do, just upgrade the firmware and they will fine. I use it on both my 1300 and my 2500, they're great drives.

So the NEC ND-3520A would be a good burner & do they have frimware for them that would keep the booktype set to rom or would you have to use a bitsetting tool to change it everytime ? i'm only familiar with the plextor & liteon drives in that regards.

    Thanks

  9. There is an auto-bitsetting firmware, CDfreaks has alot of info on different firmwares.

  11. Try harder....

There's other firmwares with bitsetting, but I believe this is supposed to be a good one.

    LOL!!!!
    Yeah,
I want to try some of these Prodisc on the NEC and see what they do, it will be interesting to compare burns from both burners with the same media.
Be nice if they did'nt want to go mountain climbing halfway though the dvd on the NEC

  16. Yeah, those are some grotesque looking errors :P. Don't expect miracles with those discs, with errors that high only near the edge, they are probably simply a bad batch of discs (high errors throughtout would be another story, but with errors peaking at the edge of the disc like that...). Probably poor dye at the edge of the discs.

    Yeah!!!
And the files are only like 3.6 gigs so it really is not even near the edge!!!!!
There is still a pretty large ring of unused area around the disc!!!
