  1. Hi

i am using tmpgenc dvd authoring 1.6, when i add a mpg file, it says

GOP is too long, click ignore if...etc etc.

the mpg file i edited in tmpgenc mpeg editor. and save it as normal mpeg output.

shall i ignore or will it be a non standard dvd disc ?

    please advise.

It will be non-standard, but it's probably better than re-encoding. Most players should still be okay with it. Just don't do it next time.

The only problem with ignoring the GOP Error is that if you need to add chapter markers....you are S.O.L. - at least in every case of that that I have run across.

    MPEG-VCR can fix GOP errors.

Try this thread for more info.
    If in doubt, Google it.

^^ is right. What the software does is simply insert some I frames to make the greatest distance between two adiacent I's no greater than 15(pal)/18(ntsc). That will increse your file size by some %, so make sure you had some spare room on your disc to begin with.
Sorry, I had to go see about a girl
