    hi all.
After browsing at the website and elsewhere I still couldn't find one single tool that can truely edit WMV files (and not just cut them roughly).

Anyone can recommand a tool for that ?
    thanks.

Good question - even Windows Movie Maker can edit WMV files!

I want to treat wmv as they were AVI in NLE software as Premiere/Avid.
that means - cutting exact frames, adding sounds, adding titles - etc.

The most important thing is not to compress again !! (as i THINK
    happenes in movie maker).

all I know is Boilsoft's joiner and Splitter that do the job of cutting very
    not accurate.

I can't vouch for the accuracy of Movie Maker, but it will do everrything else you asked for, and will import DV AVI and export the same. If it must be wmv input, you could export as DV AVI. I really don't know what it would do to it then....

I use Puremotion Editstudio 4 as my NLE, it has a WMV plugin that allows me to edit (and export as wmv) WMV files. Not sure if you already have an editor, but Editstudio has a 30 day trial, and you can download and use the plugin as well without any restrictions.

  7. I've been using Vegas for a couple years to edit WMV. It's a rather expensive solution though.
