a friend of mine purchased some old Frank Sinatra Show DVD's from e-bay. they are DVD-R and came from the U.K. i can copy with DVDSHRINK, DVDDYCRYPTOR....with ANYDVD running and they all will not play in a standalone due to region coding. i even used ULEAD Moviefactory and captured the whole DVD as an MPEG, then output to a VIDEO_TS folder. the folder came to over 9 gigs so i ran DVDSHRINK, burned again and still can't play because of the region. everything else that i back up works fine.
any ideas?????

Usually, DVD-Rs are not region coded. You say your discs came from the UK which uses the PAL television system. Are you sure your standalone player will play PAL DVDs? What message do you get (if any) from your player when you try to play one of the discs?
