I was calling around some computer stores to see which ones of Ritek/Ridata they sold. I contacted one PC store near me and they sell dvd-r 8X-12X 50 pack spindle. The guy said its in a purple wrapping, the top of the disc is frosty white while the bottom of the disk is purple.
Has anyone came across this type of dvd-r disc?
Any comments?

Look at comments to the left "DVD Media" -
Ya maybe but it didnt say cake box he said purple wrapping. Plus i dont think those discs have a white label on top.
One place i called said it doesnt matter the colour of the top or bottom there all the same Ritek. -

Inkjet media, probably. Assuming it's not fake.

What I mean is the media code. Do you think they are under the "G"?
-
Ya i could do that but of course he could just play stupid and say "I dont know" or he could just tell me the truth.
As I said before in a post I called another store and asked them about the other brand and the guy said it doesnt matter about the colour on the top of bottom of the disc. Someone just told me on the topic that what he said is a lie so who's to say if the other guy from the computer store im going will lie about what the disc quality is.
So maybe someone out there has used the type of dvd-r discs im talking about in my post and can tell me what there comments are on them. -

usually means it's crap...the worst media is almost always advertised as "great" or "high" quality media. i dont think ive ever seen taiyo yuden or maxell's advertised like that and they are the best media you can buy
-
